Product overview
HR Coils (Hot Rolled Coils) are essential steel products manufactured by rolling steel slabs at extremely high temperatures (above their recrystallization temperature) into continuous, tightly wound rolls. Production: Steel slabs are heated and passed through massive rollers to achieve the desired thickness, then cooled and coiled for transport. Cost: Because the manufacturing process does not require reheating or additional finishing delays, HR coils are generally much cheaper than Cold Rolled (CR) steel. Finish: They feature a distinctive dark gray or silvery-blue finish with a rough "mill scale" texture, which makes them highly malleable and easy to weld. HR coils are available in multiple thickness and width variations (commonly 1.5mm to 50mm+) depending on the project. Common standardized grades include IS 10748, SAE 1040, and API 5L. HR coils, or Hot Rolled Coils, are large rolls of flat steel manufactured at extremely high temperatures (often over 1,700°F or 900°C).
